Class time and Music Museum!

Alright, so I haven't spent that much time talking about school, which is hard as whatever - I'm actually avoiding it right now ... at 11:52 PM ... :p - but drill class with Kadekawa-Sensei tends to go like this:

rofl...Rin-chan you henji....
Our drill classes also involve drawings of Godzilla, renditions of This IS a Pen, and lots of props by Kadekawa-sensei (like the "exhausted bags under the eyes" for one of our dialogues).

On Friday the 31st, we headed off to the music ... uh... can't remember the English word....MUSEUM!!! (bijitsukan was all that would come to mind, guess class is paying off a little huh?) It was so COOL!!! Hamamatsu is the city were all Yamaha, Roland, and Kawai instruments are made. (To my musician friends out there...be jealous, be very jealous...there are live concerts every week and of course all of the school bands only have the best instruments because hello, this is Hamamatsu).

It was also the best way to kick off a twenty four hour countdown to seeing Typhoon Suzuki (that's right, Suzuki-sensei has a stage name) live at his Jazz concert. Also, I decided to renounce any fanciful desire to play the guitar...I'm in love with the sound of the Oud. :]

One of the things I loved most about the oldest instruments was the way you could see the personality of the musician in their instrument - there were often several of the same instrument side by side but they were decorated completely differently more out of a sense of personality than anything else. You don't really see that sense of personality anymore due to mass production of instruments.

I have no idea what this is, but it looks cool!

The Oud. :]
Raw videos from the Touch Room! This room was totally designed for little kids but of course, we were all over it, delighting the child in each of us...

It was a really nice end to a terrible finals day :p And afterwards Tiffany, Lindsey, and I went out to dinner with Obaa-chan's friends which was just fanfrickingtastic. She wasn't kidding when she said she only had young friends :p Everyone was so much fun! The restaurant was a really awesome mix of bar, all you can eat, and traditional style Japanese restaurant, so I was pretty much in heaven.
